Currently, Fernández Estrada is working on her doctoral thesis under the supervision of Professors Cristina Mourón Figueroa and Manuela Palacios González. Her thesis, provisionally titled “Greening Camelot: Ecocritical Insights into Medieval French and English Arthurian Literature”, aims to examine, through an ecocritical reading of a selection of medieval Arthurian texts, how the relationships between human and more-than-human elements are constructed. The thesis also explores how linguistic and cultural differences may influence diverse perceptions of nature. Fernández Estrada’s main lines of research include Arthurian studies, medieval studies, and ecocriticism.
