Este foco de investigaci\u00f3n est\u00e1 integrado, principalmente, por los miembros del equipo SCIMITAR<\/a>, coordinado por Mar\u00eda de los \u00c1ngeles G\u00f3mez-Gonz\u00e1lez. SCIMITAR constituye un foro de cooperaci\u00f3n internacional entre investigadores orientado al estudio de la interfaz entre la gram\u00e1tica y el discurso, fundamentalmente en ingl\u00e9s, pero tambi\u00e9n en (contraste con) otras lenguas tales como el espa\u00f1ol, gallego, portugu\u00e9s, franc\u00e9s, holand\u00e9s o alem\u00e1n. Adem\u00e1s de los miembros pertenecientes al grupo de investigaci\u00f3n D&I, el equipo SCIMITAR tambi\u00e9n cuenta con la valiosa colaboraci\u00f3n de investigadores del resto de Espa\u00f1a, as\u00ed como de Canad\u00e1, Reino Unido, Holanda y Portugal. Desde su fundaci\u00f3n en el a\u00f1o 2002, SCIMITAR consigna m\u00e1s de 250 publicaciones (34 libros; 200 art\u00edculos y cap\u00edtulos de libro; 20 rese\u00f1as) en editoriales de reconocido prestigio internacional (John Benjamins, Peter Lang, Routledge), as\u00ed como en las revistas de mayor impacto dentro del \u00e1mbito de la ling\u00fc\u00edstica (inglesa) (Applied Linguistics<\/em>, Discourse Studies<\/em>, Language Sciences<\/em>, Pragmatics<\/em>, Word<\/em>). Asimismo, SCIMITAR ha organizado m\u00e1s de 13 encuentros internacionales, incluyendo tres ediciones de la International Contrastive Linguistics Conference<\/em> (ICLC), celebradas en Santiago de Compostela en 2001, 2003 y 2005. Por su competitividad, los miembros del equipo SCIMITAR han logrado de forma continuada un total de 19 proyectos de investigaci\u00f3n en concurrencia competitiva financiados por el Ministerio de Educaci\u00f3n y Competitividad, la Xunta de Galicia<\/em>, la Uni\u00f3n Europea (FEDER), as\u00ed como por distintas instituciones internacionales como la Research Foundation-Flanders<\/em><\/a> (FWO, B\u00e9lgica) o el Natural Sciences and Engineering Research Council<\/em><\/a> (Canad\u00e1).<\/span><\/h3>\n
