Sus investigaciones se han centrado en el estudio de la adquisici\u00f3n de segundas lenguas, concretamente en las innovaciones l\u00e9xicas que se manifiestan en la interlengua de los aprendices de L2. En esta l\u00ednea, ha publicado trabajos como <em>Adquisici\u00f3n y aprendizaje del l\u00e9xico de una L2 <\/em>(1999),<span style=\"color: #000080;\"> <em><a style=\"color: #000080;\" href=\"http:\/\/lincom-shop.eu\/LSLA-11-Interlanguage-Lexical-Innovation\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Interlanguage Lexical Innovation<\/a><\/em><\/span> (2004) o \u201cInnovaci\u00f3n l\u00e9xica: compuestos nominales en la interlingua de aprendices espa\u00f1oles de ingl\u00e9s como L2\u201d (2005).
