Jes\u00fas Varela Zapata<\/strong> is Associate Professor of English at the University of Santiago de Compostela, where he has held several posts such as Dean of the Faculty of Humanities. He is the author of a book on V.S. Naipaul, and has edited a number of books on applied linguistics and cultural studies. He has also published extensively and led research teams on postcolonial and global studies. He has been a guest speaker at universities such as Akdeniz, Cornell, Ottawa, Aichi Prefectural and Kanazawa. He is a member of the editorial team of the journals <\/span>Atlantis<\/em> and <\/span>The Grove: Working Papers on English Studies<\/em>.<\/span><\/h2>\n
