The Literature <\/span><\/span>Team<\/span><\/span> 3<\/span><\/span><\/strong>, coordinated by Jorge Romero <\/span><\/span>Sacido<\/span><\/span>, conducts research <\/span><\/span>on<\/span><\/span> women\u2019s literature in the UK and is integrated by scholars such as Laura <\/span><\/span>Lojo<\/span><\/span> Rodr\u00edguez who is specialized in British literature of female authorship and, particularly, in Virginia Woolf\u2019s oeuvre. At present,<\/span><\/span> under a research project entitled <\/span><\/span>\u201cWomen\u2019s Tales\u201d: The Short Fiction of Contemporary British Writers<\/span><\/span> (<\/span><\/span>FEM2013-41977-P)<\/span><\/span> and coordinated by Jorge <\/span><\/span>Sacido<\/span><\/span> R<\/span><\/span>omero, the Literature Research Team 3 is working on the overlaps between gender and the short story genre, exploring and analysing how different British writers have used the genre to challenge patriarchal authority and to redefine the position of women in society. As a result of this research interest, several <\/span><\/span>contributions<\/span><\/span> have <\/span><\/span>been published<\/span><\/span>: \u201cThe Voice in Twentieth-Century English Short Fiction: E.M. Forster, V.S. Pritchett and Muriel Spark\u201d (<\/span><\/span>Sacido<\/span><\/span> Romero, 2015); \u201cLa <\/span><\/span>po\u00e9tica<\/span><\/span> del <\/span><\/span>cuento<\/span><\/span> en<\/span><\/span> la <\/span><\/span>primera<\/span><\/span> mitad<\/span><\/span> del <\/span><\/span>siglo<\/span><\/span> XX <\/span><\/span>en<\/span><\/span> Reino<\/span><\/span> Unido<\/span><\/span>: Virginia Woolf y Elizabeth Bowen\u201d (<\/span><\/span>Lojo<\/span><\/span> Rodr\u00edguez, 2015);<\/span><\/span> <\/span><\/span>Moving<\/span><\/span><\/span> across<\/span><\/span> a Century: <\/span><\/span>Women\u2019s<\/span><\/span> Short <\/span><\/span>Fiction<\/span><\/span> from<\/span><\/span> Virginia Woolf to Ali Smith<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/a> (<\/span><\/span>Peter <\/span><\/span>Lang<\/span><\/span> 2012), edited by Laura <\/span><\/span>Lojo<\/span><\/span>\u00a0 Rodr\u00edguez; <\/span><\/span>Modernism<\/span><\/span>, <\/span><\/span>Postmodernism<\/span><\/span>, and <\/span><\/span>the<\/span><\/span> Short <\/span><\/span>Story<\/span><\/span> in English<\/span><\/span><\/a><\/span> (<\/span><\/span>Rodopi<\/span><\/span> \/ <\/span><\/span>Brill<\/span><\/span> 2012), edited by Jorge <\/span><\/span>Sacido<\/span><\/span> Romero. The results of this research project have also been disseminated in<\/span><\/span> national and international for<\/span><\/span>a as well as in the seminars <\/span><\/span>Women\u2019s Tales in Motion: Contemporary Literature in the British Isles <\/span><\/span>(2015) <\/span><\/span>and<\/span><\/span> Gender and<\/span><\/span> Short Fiction: Women\u2019s Tales in Contemporary Britain <\/span><\/span>(2016), both held in Santiago de <\/span><\/span>Compostela<\/span><\/span> and organized by the members of the team in collaboration with the <\/span><\/span><\/span>USC Office for Gender Equality<\/span><\/span><\/a><\/span>.<\/span><\/span><\/a><\/span>
