Nerea Riobó-Pérez

Nerea Riobó-Pérez holds a BA in English Language and Literature (June 2012) and an MA in Advanced English Studies (2013) from the University of Santiago de Compostela (USC, Spain). As an ERASMUS exchange student (2010-2011) Riobó-Pérez also studied at the University of Aberdeen, UK. After specializing in Angela Carter’s short stories about Little Red Riding Hood, Riobó-Pérez is currently completing her PhD dissertation under the supervision of Dr. Laura Lojo Rodríguez. Entitled Wicked Women or Passive Heroines in Fairy Tales? Angela Carter’s Female Characters and Sexuality, the dissertation focuses on the use of symbolism and female identity in Angela Carter’s fairy tales. Her main research interests include fairy-tale and folklore studies, feminism and sexuality, the gothic, and the construction of gender in short fiction.
